I didn't need to, bouncing around like a child in a candy store said it all :D

She was present when I visited Kubinka so this wasn't a surprise ;)

Because I don't use it anymore.
I'm considering replacing it with something a little more Girandoni in fact.

It would be the source of donorparts but that is about all the future I see for it.
It is far too powerful for simple plinking, only suited for soundballs, front heavy and I doubt it's safe after such a long time.

Power is a good thing but the noise gets me into trouble.
Using lower pressure doesn;t do it for me...I guess.
If I could get it to cycle nerfs..at least my son would use it.. :D

Nah..it was a good learning experience, trained my skills.
Mostly, it thaught me what never to do again.
Don't worry though.
An new version of it will only happen if I figure out how to improve it on basically every level.

No more mechanisms housed in wood.
Detailed brass castings is what I'm thinking about..
It is on my mind almost every day.
Just need to make up my mind on what I want to do exactly.
Building it will take months probably, so I need to decide on the best design.

Hum... Can you teach me how to work with wood? I´m finishing the design of my pcp and building in progress too... So I´m hoping to start the stock when summer holiday beginnings
I only have basic tools, a drill press, drill, saw... But I do have a good dremel with a lot of accessories for wood work :)
You can pm me.

naah dude just design an ALU 'block' that houses all the parts and serves as the valve... and have it machined... then attach it to the stock

I built a fournace to melt brass for a reason..

:D
Hum... Can you teach me how to work with wood?
Sure come over here.. :D

You'll need a drill with some spade bits, a folding saw, a small woodplane and sandpaper to replicate what I did.

The folding saw is used as a file, rather than a saw.
By bending it while you use it you can cut out the most amazing shapes.

I could promise you a How-to but I'm already overworking myself.. :?

After several years of gathering dust this thing was taken off the wall yesterday.

My neighbour was interested in it so I decided to take it apart to reset the jammed hammervalve only to find out the problem wasnt the valve, but the pin that transfers the hammer's energy to the hammervalve.

It was twisted a bit.

It just popped back into place and Old Shat was ready to go again!!

I had forgotten what a cool gun it was to shoot.

We decided to load it from the muzzle with a patatoe sabot, a load of b-buckshot and a bit of paper to keep it all in.
WOW!!

It all came back to me...shooting stuff is FUN!!

But more importantly: My son got the opportunaty to fire it a couple of times and I have to say he's a crack shot!

He really liked shooting it..it's now his favourite "gun".
Really nice to see him enjoy his fathers' creation. :D

More Girandoni, this time on Forgotten Weapons - this seemed the right place to put it :)

I traveled the U.S. Black Powder rendezvous circuit as a dealer and competitor for about 13 years, so the Girandoni has always fascinated me. I too hope to replicate it one day.
