My First pneumatic
Although I have not posted in order this is my first spudgun. It uses a 1 in. UNmodified sprinkler valve. It is filled through a schreader in the back.It has a 3 inch chamber with a 3 inch barrel. The outer casing is aluminum flashing rolled around then painstakingly pop riveted and filled with Great Stuff.

Looks great for a first pneumatic
Only thing I can think of; it looks like the reducer on one side of the sprinkler valve is a bell-reducer, and is probably DWV. But you most likely know about that stuff now, so I won't ramble on about it.
I like the aluminum shroud around the barrel and chamber. The rivets were put on nice and neat

Not bad for a first.
The aluminum flashing is interesting, but you did do a good job with the pop rivets.
Seems like you're losing a lot of performance from having too short of a barrel though. I'd lengthen it out a little.
Is the ammo hollow? I generally like to stick with ammo that has more of a punch. Sure it gives you more recoil, but the devastation is priceless.

I dont see too much devistation with a heavy ammo combined with this large bore of a barrel and small of a valve. I garentee this shoots empty cans pretty quick though. At least quick to someone who hasnt built a big bore piston with big porting.I generally like to stick with ammo that has more of a punch. Sure it gives you more recoil, but the devastation is priceless.
I like the cannon. Its nice to see the time you took to make that neat aluminum with rivets. Have fun with it man.
I like to play blackjack. I'm not addicted to gambling, I'm addicted to sitting in a semi-circle.

I'm used to seeing feet included from straight down shots, but this is the first time I've seen one from an angle
you kids just keep looking for new ways to piss me off
I agree with the above comments, keeping the same overall length but reducing chamber length for a gain in barrel length should increase performance considerably, as well as modding the sprinkler valve.

And it doesn't help that I'm speaking from the perspective of someone who fires piston cannons regularly. I haven't used a sprinkler valve as a main valve for a while.jook13 wrote:I dont see too much devistation with a heavy ammo combined with this large bore of a barrel and small of a valve. I have no doubt that it fires that can pretty fast.

I agree bout the barrel length and sprinkler valve. Essentially a 1" sprinkler is only 3/4" porting so I wouldn't use it with that size pipe but I bet it's great fun. Very good cannon for your first
The aluminum work is done very cleanly and compliments the cannon nicely. Good job!
