This is the gun I was discussing in this thread.

http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/help-wi ... 19818.html

All of the bugs are worked out. It seals and fires every time. After it warms up my wife will give it a good paint job. I still need to build the 5' barrel extension, muzzle break and I am still not satisfied with the handel. There are several small things to work on so it ill be a wile before I deem this compleat. The stand is adjustable for height and is very stable. It also folds down for easy transport. I can not believe how much time this has taken to build, It has taken a couple of months, though I did take a few weeks off.

Any questions, comments or suggestions are welcome.

Here is a few pictures from today. Please forgive the messy basement.

Looks good and I'm sure performance is pretty amazing, but is that stand up to dealing with the recoil?

It is quite sturdy as is. It would be very easy to make it much sturdier just by putting 1" wooden rods in all the PVC, witch I planed in the beginning but don't think I need. I plan on putting a couple of tent stakes with rope going to the stand if it jumps back to much, plus I will be directly behind it and I am not a small guy.

That is one fine coaxial! Looking forward to the final painted version.

You probably spent more time on the base/stand as you did on the actual launcher.

Very nice design for using PVC.

Thanks for the props.

It did take quite a wile. But I wanted something light, easy to transport, and would use a minimal amount of welding. all wile being strong enough to last the life of the gun. I also wanted a stand with a design so I could use it on other projects as well.

Clean build, powerful launcher.

Regardless of the stand being capable of handling recoil, it looks good too.
Well done! :D

Thanks,
I will take some more detailed pictures of the stand and wright up some information if you want. Just send me a P.M., unless you want me to post it up on this thread. I got some parts today to build some straps to hold the gun onto the stand.

I would leave it free to recoil in the cradle but attach a couple of bungee straps going around the back of the launcher.

Something vaguely like this:

Close to what I have in mind. We sell bungees by the foot at work. It will be a few days before I get the chance to work on it agin.

If it would overshoot it would cause the gun to fly off the stand forward.
Keep that in mind.

I already have a plan for this. I have a air cylinder used for cabinet doors that open to the top, they control how fast the door closes as it comes down and I can use them for how fast the gun rebounds and to keep it from coming to far back. I revised the design I had planned and took tomorrow off to get some work done on it. As soon as I am done I will post up some pictures.

It would be most amusing to have a pneumatic cannon launcher :D

That was quite a play on words. I just woke up so it took a couple of minutes to figure out what exactly you were trying to say. It makes you wonder if you shoot a cannon in to the air that can shoot a projectile out of it. Great, now I am trying to over work my brain to early.
