I made my first airgun but made the mistake of not actually researching first, otherwise I would have built with a QEV and proper size and proper rated chamber and fitting, etc.

But just wanted to show a funny rigged up trigger I made of random stuff I had laying around in the shed.

Also, is it possible to fill from the chamber side with a (store bought) QEV? or is there a check valve between the pilot and chamber that prevents this from working?

Thanks

Thanks, made several test shots at 200psi, was surprised by the power.. I shot a socket through a thick plastic 1 gallon car wash jug filled with water and 3 more empty jugs behind it and it went through all. And shot a piece of wood about 1/2" thick and blew out a big exit hole.

and you will be more surprised when you change the BV with QEV or piston valve

Think there will be a big increase with QEV over my springed valve? How about if I add another pipe 90 (in addition to the bend of the QEV)?

they will be increase of power if you use QEV,but not very large because the BV give you great flow instead of fast opening !!

and i am afraid i didn't understand you ,what you meant ?

Made a test fire just over 12 bar with an AA battery... Do you think a QEV would perform significantly better with a shot like that?

Also kind of funny the battery hit the "Y" of a down tree branch behind it and split the tree branch in half, found the battery inside the branch split.

Quirky but it works, I like :)

A QEV piston/diaphragm is usually cup shaped, meaning it acts as a check valve:

In order to fill from the chamber valve, you have to make a small hole in the piston, and add a spring behind it in the pilot area.

I like the modified ball valve dude. Very good build with stuff that you just had kicking around the house!! It opens alot faster than other rigs I have seen like this with the spring hooked up to it!! Its cool to make things with stuff you just have lying around and not having to spend any cash!!! A+++ :D :D :D

Redesigned it some after my QEV came... still have all the same crappy fittings because I didn't want to have to buy all new parts, but this gun is going to only be used upto 200~ PSI.

I bored the inside of the steel barrel smooth, I kind of like it better than copper besides the weight..

Try reducing the pilot volume, it will be better.

How exactly are you piloting, is that brass bit a ball valve?

If you, you should connect that to the elblow, and the fill valve further down the line.

I would but I don't want it to be overly sensitive to schrader valve (would have to add in another valve or check valve?)

Nope.

I suggest getting some seamless pipe for a barrel.
