After an eternity of not making any properly functioning guns ,I have recently constructed this 6mm Steel BB shooter Bolt Action 10 shot ,it works quite well but sadly doesn't have the power I wished for .

Im using my usual set up of 1/4" QEV VALVE and Normally Open Poppet Valve ( Clippard MJVO - 3) , Inner barrel is barrel is Brass tube from the hobby shop with exactly 6mm ID but only 300mm long .I plan on making longer barrel too ,its made that the barrel just screws off for transportation purposes .

The stock took me a long long time and still not finished!,needs more sanding and will wood stain it and add some optics

If I up the pressure from 120 psi and make a longer barrel ,Im guessing performance will be a lot better?,Just gotta find a suitable longer barrel with 6mm ID .Might have to try order in an Airsoft barrel into oz?

65 Views and not one comment? even with a demo .......LOL ,it must be junk  though I shoulda properly finished it all before posting

It sounds very cool!
Performance should go up with a longer barrel and higher pressure.

Already it seems like a fun plinker!
Personally, I would have turned the fittings in such a way that the reservoir would run out the side so the barrel could be set much lower.

another way to improve power would be to increase the size of the reservoir.

if you take out the elbows between the barrel and valve and the one on the pilot side, flip the valve 90 degrees you would end up with the same gun, just much more compact.

Nice work Django

I bet it would work nice with .2s.

I do like BTBs suggestion for the layout, but youve built enough of these things that im betting you did it for a reason.

What kind of range are you getting? What kind of power are you hoping for? Its built solid - you could always crank the pressure.

Where did you source the valves, namely the trigger valve? Just ebay or similar?

Are you feeding it from a compressor, or do you pump it and then get your ten shots?

Damn!!!! too late now ,I REALLY don't want to make a new stock all over again(not now anyways) ,to suit that other configuration BUT it certainly would have been much better that way around ,what the hell was I thinking .

its looks will be much better off ,when its stained and has optics, I should think

Range :unsure as yet ,only tested in my back room as per demo video and out the back yard, what Power was I hoping for?? ,double what it has now...LOL

The 1/4" Qev valve I bought 2 ,online somewhere in oz ,many years ago cant even recall the seller now?, the Poppet Trigger Valve was bought locally from an Air Tools specialist that's now closed down!( ive bought 3 now all used in different guns).

For the demo it was powered via compressor ,I have a Bulk co2 bottle I hire from BOC Gas and fill my 20 oz co2 bottle with but my fill station is no good anymore ,it died over a year ago .To hire those bulk cylinders is wayyy expensive now ,Ive had it 10 years but I need to return it as the rental now too $$$ .

So looking at alternative ways of air or gas, I'll probably make a longer air Chamber and fit that inside and try get a longer 6mm ID barrel made up

Doing more work on this " P60" I call it now ...ive now extended the Air Chamber as far as I could to TRY give it more power!, ive painted it all black and gone for my Usual " Military Look " that I allways do  .

Power does feel a lot better with the longer chamber , Im still having probs in that when I unhook the airline the qev fires off!, that's not good!!!. I have a spring in the QEV ,I tried the spring at the front of the diaphragm and now its back in the rear of the diaphragm . When I hook the airline up its fine and doesn't fire but when I unhook the air ,the qev fires off ,no matter what I do!?, which is just too dangerous .
