Multi-Shot Regulator

I may have come up with a way to use a pre-charged chamber for multiple shots without losing power each time. For shooting the gun, rapidly open and close the exhaust valve, this will cause the piston to close again sealing the chamber again.
To keep the chamber pressure at it's highest, add a piston in the chamber with a spring, the spring should have the same force as the air pushing on the surface of the piston, when the pressure lowers in the chamber the piston will "squish" the remaining air together and bring the pressure back up by reducing the volume, each time the pressure drops the piston will pressurise the remaing air together. When the gun is filled the piston will move to the bac of the chamber as the air pressure is slightly stronger than the spring while filling, eventually it wil equalaize.

Errr one question...
This spring loaded chamber piston, how will it be set back into its "acted" postition? Maybe im mis-understanding the location and alignment of the piston. Picture? lol

i thought of something similar, the only problem is that the chamber volume will decrease, which affects performance

Not really if this "regulated"chamber fills the firing chamber.
But that means the whole thing will get huge.But in theory it works.
I thought of the same principle but in a differnt way:
Cover a chamber pipe by ( multiple layers of) bike tube.Drill a small ( small will mimic the effect of having the same firing chamber volume)hole in the pipe, so the tire inflates when the pipe is inflated.
The only thing that has kept me from trying is I don't know how to seal the ends of the tire to the pipe.Maybe covering the ends with a short piece of hose and a clamp.
This way you won't have to double the lenght of your chamber or find a good spring.

Basically, the piston would compress whats left of the air into a smaller volume with higher pressure. The piston I'm talking about is not part of the valve, it will sit inside the chamber with a spring setting against the end of the chamber farthest from the valve.
If anything it will help force the air out through the barrel, which could boost performance.
With the bike tube idea, that stuff won't fit over a very big chamber, I've gotten it to stretch over 2" max, I guess that's not bad for small caliber barrels. I'm just afraid the bike tube would pop.
P.S. Would the recompression of either of our ideas cause the valve to jump open?

Not if you have a spring return piston and a slow flow from the "compression" tank to the main tank.

portability, costs.Things like that.
Why stick to what we have already?
experimenting is part of the fun in this hobby.
A CO2 tank with a reg would solve it also...
What's wrong with innovations??
