i have read the wiki and i need a more detailed description of how to mod

do i have to take the screws out?

do i take the large black thing with the wires?

do i take out the flow control knob?

the way i think i should mod it (probably wrong) is take the flow control knob out and replace it with a blow valve

You will have to take out the screws and pop off the lid.
drill a hole in the off-centered to leave the flow control alone.
you can leave the solenoid in place after installing a blowoff, or you can remove it and seal the hole

Unscrew the flocontrol. Thin using a 1/4" nipple thread it into the hole where the flo control was. remember to use teflon tape. then re assemble the valve. and remove the solonoid. then fill the solonoid hole with epoxy.

you dont need to blue glue the blow gun in, i have all waysed just used teflon tape and it works and it is easy to repair if something happens, and for the holes you need to block use epoxy and bog then epoxy again it works sweet as

ok...let me get this straight
I don't need to drill a hole, I just need to put a 1/4" nipple where the flow control was and then attach a blowoff valve to it.
why is it a 1/4" nipple when the top of the flow control is a little less then 1/2"

I have some other questions before I do everything:

are all blowoff valves 1/4"

do I have to plug where the solenoid is or can i leave it in.

and what do you mean by
Thin using a 1/4" nipple thread it into the hole where the flo control was

I mean then.

a 1/4" nipple is the nominal sizt they are actually ~1/2 inches in diameter
i have yet to see a blogun that is not 1/4" threaded
you can leave the solonoid where it is but it is niice if it is gone.

Just follow my how-to. Different valve, same process. Just ignore the anti-siphon part.

Menards? What state are you in? Menards is based in the Chicagoland area. Might you be in Illinois?

there's a Menard's by me, and I'm in Michigan. I don't think there just in Chicago.

I said it's based in the Chicagoland. Take a look at their Store Locations and tell me if you notice anything about the Chicago area that's different than the others.

All I'm saying is that according to the Menards locations, there's a greater chance of him being from around Chicago than any other spot in particular, say Michagan.

I shouldn't keep my hopes up though.
