What is the best type of valve to use? Im useing an electronic solenoid sprinkler valse and it works decently. How do you make the valves work better by modifying them?

The best type of valve? In what respect?
For raw power: go with a burst disk
For simplicity of use: go with a ball valve
For moderate power and somewhat simplicity of use: go with a sprinkler valve
For a little more power than the sprinkler, but more price: go with a QEV
For low cost (compared to valves of a similar size) and power: go with a piston valve
For a gun with a short barrel: go with a diaphragm valve
For lowest cost: don't use a valve, and build a BBMG!
see, it really depends...

somethimg that has a quick powerful blast.
I want power but I also want to conserve air pressure for many shots.

So how does it work after youve modded it? Does the valve close as soon as you let up on the trigger of the blowgun valve?

Well, if you dont care about rate of fire... just use a union. They are the most powerful

The cheapest valve you could use is a union.
Pros:
Low cost
Instant opening time
different preasure settings disk
Amazing power
Cons:
Anoying to re-load
Somewhat unpredictable
Only single fire
Piston valves are easy and cheap to make.
Pros:
Cheap
Multiple shots achievable
Can be used to make a coaxle
Reliable
Powerful
Cons:
If made badly, will preform badly
Have to adjust spring time to time
Sprinkler valves are widly avaliable but are a bit more pricey
Pros:
Can use it straight out of the box
Widly avaliable in stores
Little modification needed to make it work at its best
Can have detachable barrels/chambers
Cons:
Modification is required to make it better
Not as powerful as the other 2 mentioned
Bulky
More pricey then other 2
The best one for you to go with IMO would be the piston valve, as it can be used as a multi-fire valve if the chamber is big enough. They are easy to get to work right and they are the cheapest of the lot.

it works pretty much like a piston or diaphram valve. there is air on 2 sides of the diaphram thing and on the bottom part the plug keeps the air in. a small hole in the side of the diaphram leeks air into the top ro equalize the pressure. when the valve is modded, and you squeeze the blow gun the air on the top half is let out and the pressure between the
bottom and top half is so unequal that the air at the bottom pushes the plug and diaphram up and it all enters the tube into the barrel.
i had to figure that out myself takin one apart. it looks liek this once the blowgun is pulled

Does the modified blow gun attachment get more power or more shots?

More power. I'll tell you right now that you wont be gettin multiple shots. It's not an easy task ans isn't worth the bother. Here's a better explanation of a sprinkler valve by the way.

I can get like 6 good shots out of my gun without reloading at 70 psi and I use a solenoid sprinkler valve with a momentary switch. The paintballs will even go through metal (not too thick).

I'll post it next week with some damage pics Its big and black!. The joint custody with my parents makes getting things done impossible...

^^No offense but that's the third wild claim I've heard without damage pics. Please post.

paintballs are very hard to shoot through even thin sheet metal, but a bunch of layers of foil would be a little more likely.
