My future pneumatic design (very new!!!!)

Hey guys, i've been thinking about making the ultimate pneumatic, combining almost-all-copper parts, soldered together, bolt mechanism, chamber sealing valve, trigger-like ball valve actuation, quick female connect to fill the chamber at 200 psi....
This new cannon should be finished in a couple a months or perhaps a bit less, but i think it will definately kick ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The bore will be 1cm(ID) wide for 60cm long copper pipe , the piston should be a piece of copper pipe with thick neoprene on it, and a small equalization hole....but, here's the pic of the design, please be gentle, it took me 1h to draw this, since i'm a noob in diagram drawing. Enjoy, and please...give some feedback !! (oh, for the soldering of the two tee sections joining the chamber and the bolt mechanism, don't worry, i'll buy threaded caps, so that i can put the piston when the copper is cold!!! Image

You might have problems with getting a good seal with the piston because its a chamber sealing the unit needed to be air tight.Because of the small exhaust volume a blow gun could be used to fire the gun plus they are alot easyer to use and look alot sweeter.

200psi sounds sweet

what do you use to get that kind of pressure? My air compressor goes up to 170psi

thx for answering, weel, as i said, this isn't the last design, i've already made changes in the plan, i'll post them later tonight, i've got to go to my music lesson...
i can tell you that it will use two reducers, and a blowgun instead of a ball-valve
but hey, don't you think this is great?

How is the bolt going to look exactly? From the drawing it seems like it is going to stick out the back of the gun, which means the force of the pressure will push it backwards when firing. If the rear is airtight and the bolt just a piece of pipe, it will not have much force on it.
Keep in mind that drilling and machining copper in general is an absolute bitch. It has eaten my drill bits on many occasions, and a hole rarely ends up where you wanted it.
Soldering the handle onto the bolt will probably be too weak, you sould drill a hole and screw it on instead. If you epoxy a nut on the inside of the hole and use lots of teflon tape on the threads it will be airtight.
Before you start buying stuff, make a scale drawing or 3D model using the actual dimensions of the fittings you are going to use, this is an easy way to catch eventual problems, it has worked very well for me.
With the right design, this could be a nicely compact and very powerful gun. A chamber sealing valve is more complex to build, but also has more flow for a given tee size.

thx galfisk for your answer!! well, the bolt should be blocked when firing and i won't do any machining!! i have the chance to have all the possible sizes for copper pipes and fittings, so everything will slide just fine!!. there should be a cap at the end of the bolt which would be soldered on it. i'm currently doing an up to scale design!! i'll post it when finished, but i'm at college these days and don't ave much time for me.........

here is the design of the bolt thingy....reducers!!!!!! so that it pushes the projectiles in the barrel, where they get stucked by a very thing layer of solid paper glue.Image

hey nobody did answer...would this work or not?
still i might pass to the 6mm steel or 8mm steel cuz the BB's are more dense and provide better accuracy...

i would love to lol but i can't read wht ever u typed on your example pic. could u try to make it clearer or host with a diffrent site so i can see it?

Looks like it would work, though I think any glue you place inside the barrel will become ineffective or just get blown out when firing. Depending on what you're going to use for ammo, there are different ways to retain the projectile without glue. Nd magnets work well with steel BBs.
Will the bolt be copper as well, or some other material?

Thx galfisk, i'll try the magnets!! yes, i'm definatley going for the 8mm steel...they make 1 gram BB's....that should provide a lot of cinetic energy...

The pics works fine for me, i just clik the photo on spudfiles and it opens in a new page, full sized....maybe it's your navigator or your screen that isn't really sharp...
