New to the site and was wondering where do I tap into a sprinkler valve like this? It has that thing in the middle. Do I just go to one side? <br>

Unscrew the small knob atop the valve, and tap into that location.

Sorry for the short responce, I suppose I should have contributed more.

First off Id suggest you just buy yourself a 1" valve instead of the pictured 3/4" valve. They generally will cost you the same amount, yet yeilder greater performance.

Secondly, when you 'tap' use a correct sized NPT tap to first make the threads. These NPT taps can be picked up at some hardware stores, and other online carriers. Also on the metal fitting being threaded into this newly tapped hole, be sure to wrap the male threads counter-clockwise with Teflon plumbers tape.

Although if all possible Id suggest that you try and purchase a WaterMaster brand sprinkler valve. These allow a secure connection since they plastic in the same location is a lot thicker. Generally such valves also run cheaper in price. Good luck.
