semi auto valve safety

I'm making a semi auto valve. You can go here to see it:

I have a couple questions.
1. I'm planning on using CO2 paintball tank with a regulator. Can anybody recommend a good regulator or they all basically the same.
2. I'm hoping to use it for paintball but I'm starting to wonder if it's safe. how much use will I get out of it. Is it safe in colder temperatures. If not, should I use ABS. Disadvantages to ABS? I'm currently using sch40 PVC for almost all of it.
3. Any suggestions you want to give.
Thanks

Do NOT use ABS for a pneumatic. No its not safe to shoot at people. Any reg would work. So basically don't build it if you were going to shoot at people. Just buy a cheap semi-auto paintball gun with good reviews.

why is it unsafe to shoot at people with a regulator? I could put it down to 10 psi and it would go 15 feet.

Just please don't do it. If I gave you an answer you would probably just argue.

You're right, I probably would...
However, the chances of me using it in a game would be much less likely with a solid reason.

PVC gets brittle in the cold. CO2 gets cold as it drops in pressure, which would just add to this problem.
Also, isn't it Moore's Law or something that states that anything that can go wrong will? So, lets just say the regulator malfunctions and pressurizes the chamber to 200PSI. Maybe theres a malfunction, maybe your CO2 gets cold and prays liquid CO2 in the chamber. You think you have it at 10PSI, and shoot a guy from 10 feet away in between the legs since you think it would be funny. Then, the guy ends up having to get his manhood removed because you wanted to use a homemade launcher in paintball.

I give up. You can really do whatever you want just don't complain here if you
"accidentally" mame one of your friends.

okay, a bit off subject but it's murphey's law that says the worst will ALWAYS happen. Nice analogy though. I don't know though. Maybe if you made it REALLY good and out of something stronger, like aluminum, then it could be safe. I would do extensive research and testing first.

ok that's what I wanted to hear. I'll probably buy a cheapo pb gun now. What should I do with my halfway built valve though?!?!

See if you want to build a pb gun to actually use in real games then its impractical. You need a big reg it will be big and u can't use pvc in cold weather. If you want to actually use it to play pb then get a real pb gun off ebay for real cheap. You could use the valve to just make a pnuematic cannon.

I would recommend a palmer co2 reg, like gort sells.
