Thanks for the kudos guys. Looks like I will be taking final delivery of parts on the 25th. Still on track for the June release. If anyone is interested in being on the waiting list, send me an email over at http://www.eclipselauncher.com

Thats impressive... REALLY impressive. i can only imagine the design hours that went into that. Have you shot it over a chrono yet? even though i know they should be going very fast those paintballs dont look like they have very high velocity. Might be the video tricking me , though.

when can you reveal more of the design, I want to know how you got the barrel to seal between the shell and barrel

The barrel seal is created when air passes through a tube that is surrounded by a spring that holds light tension on the rear disk. The disk has a lip that encroaches into the airstream and the friction during launch forces the disk tighter. The front of the shell is flush on the disk, then the receiver is tapered from 42.5, down to 40mm entering the barrel. I am sure that there are some improvements that can be made, but the launcher surpasses all design specs and fires great. In regards to velocities, I was firing about 225fps in those vids, but I was using a low flowing regulator and I was overshooting it before it could get to pressure. I solved this with either dual regs or a higher flow one.

I have fired paint way beyond any reasonably safe speed. I will post some data once the production model is complete in a couple weeks. I was firing a nerf style foam rocket at about 4 or 500 fps the other day with plenty of headroom psi wise.

for the rotating cam shaft, the position in the groves where the shell is alined, does that have a specific depth to ensure the shaft is locked well into position

The depth varies. But yes, it has plenty of locking power.

nice gun I but I have to agree with others as far as contest is concerned.... comparing homemade guns to this is unfair... how can you win with someone who has all the tools and machinery you can get + several thousand $$$ to spend on it :) ?
