Hi guys,
I was just wondering if it would be OK to epoxy PVC pipe and fittings together with epoxy for a small combustion launcher. And also, what size PVC do piezos fit tightly in?

Proper cementing is recommended but epoxy for a spray and pray will be okay. Peizos come in different sizes look around the showcase for similar igniters and just eyeball it. Most cannons have some specs on the diameter of the chamber and so on base the diameter off that.

As long as you apply the epoxy correctly, it should be fine. Try and roughen up the PVC first with sandpaper though.

Here in NZ it's 3/4" DWV PVC, i'm not sure what it'd be in America, sorry.

I second what MrCrowley said about roughening... It won't bond for crap unless you roughen it. As for piezo ignitors, you SHOULD be fine with 3/4", but you might buy one and test it on a small piece of pipe first. The ones I buy fit decently, but you could wrap the body in masking tape for a tighter fit if you need it.

Just wondering, why don't you get some primer and pvc cement? Its not expensive and there is no arguing that primer/cement is the best and safest way to do it.

But like the others said, epoxy should be fine so long as you take the time to prep (roughen) the surfaces and mix the epoxy thoroughly.
