Unfortunately, your responses to a working spud gun is not surprising.
A man worked his ass off, spent many hours and money to make his cannon, presented it in a well made video, and all you can see is his use/misuse of a word.
I am disappointed that the topic was derailed.
Johnny was a chemist's son,
Johnny is no more,
What Johnny thought was H2O,
Was H2SO4.

Boyntonstu; I can't put this bluntly enough. Why do you bother trolling?
Unfortunately I'm capped at the moment, so I can't watch it (effectively). However, HHO is a word that reeks of misinformation and filthy, lying scams.

While the term 'HHO' is pretty dodgy (often associated with free energy etc.), this seems to me like a legitimate project employing the electrolysis of water to produce hydrogen.
While it is certainly not cost competitive with propane this may be made up for by the increased refuelling intervals (water is denser than compressed propane) and safety of not having to deal with a large quantity of compressed, flammable gas.
I have often wondered about using hydrogen/oxygen in high X hybrids to obtain higher velocities. If one used say 10:1 hydrogen:oxygen, (5 times stoichiometric) the excess hydrogen would hopefully prevent DDT while resulting in a very high speed of sound and therefore high projectile velocities, as well as a nice muzzle flash.

Yes, it is a legitimate project and even if the builder called it a 'Quarkerby", the nuts and bolts issues would remain the same.12332123 wrote:While the term 'HHO' is pretty dodgy (often associated with free energy etc.), this seems to me like a legitimate project employing the electrolysis of water to produce hydrogen.

It shoots spuds and it make a loud bang.
The question is how loud is it in comparison with flammable gases?

I think I go fuel up my generic combustion gun with some HHHHHHHHCCC.

everyone that is crapping on this thread talking about how he isnt using the correct term is pathetic.
Doesnt matter if he calls it a boob cannon.. he does have a well made video with a well made cannon, atleast respect that...
stop being soo damn elitists that you have to slam him for any detail.. Its a nice cannon, its not the normal build for a cannon and looks and sounds very impressive. to say he is trolling is ridiculous, he posted a spudgun and it looks impressive.. if anyone is causing any issues on this forum it is you guys for bashing on him when he is just trying to show off a sweet looking cannon.
Yes he describes something wrong, yes the word has a meaning.. but if someone makes a beautiful firearm but accidentaly calls his magazine a clip, it doesn't mean you should post nothing but comments bashing him and his work. HHO has become a slang term just like clip is a slang term for what people sometimes mean magazine.
Its just being snobby and elitest. Same with the Sniper vs Sniper Rifle.. if its a nice Sniper Rifle, who cares if the person made it calls it a Sniper.. its just semantics. and yes you should point it out, but you shouldnt say he is trolling or only comment about that...
with that said,
looks well built, sounds awesome, love the RC.
I want to make a nice un-manned vehicle myself when I get enough money.

Seems like a nice "because I can" cannon. Not sure if it would be worth the cost though. Admittedly, I ducked whenever the cannon was facing the camera. Not something I would recommend on an automated cannon haha. Accidently flick the "fuel" switch without realising and then proceed to demonstrate in the video "look if I stare down the barrel and press the ignition button, nothing will hap..."

I'm surprised no one has suggested putting a fan in it or pointed out the dangers of dihydrogenmonoxide inhalation. http://www.dhmo.org/
Nice setup.

Ignorance is ignorance even if it is accompanied by a beutiful build.Davidvaini wrote:everyone that is crapping on this thread talking about how he isnt using the correct term is pathetic.
Sarcasm, use of incorrect terms, etc. are all valid enough attention getters but a persons work should be able to speak for itself without goofy fluffery.
yes. those include a horrible burning sensation, watering eyes, mucus production, and possibly drowning.chenslee wrote:I'm surprised no one has suggested putting a fan in it or pointed out the dangers of dihydrogenmonoxide inhalation. http://www.dhmo.org/
