For a few years I have been living in France where it is easy to get components, however upon moving to Oz I am facing no end of problems.

My latest problem is finding the fitting many people use to attach a torch head to a standard thread, described as 1/4" compression to 1/4" NPT.

Does anyone Australian know where to get one?

Hmmm, I looked there and didn't see anything this small... Maybe my Bunnings is poorly stocked, but I'll look again next time I'm there.

gday, i have as you found that AUS is crap for sourcing parts. try an actual plumbing store as i have done, reece or other big brands and walk into the trade desk ask for parts. extremely helpful and so cheap, fraction of bunnings costs. i built a semi auto QEV CO2 gun here in auz so keep lookin and you will find the parts your after. just need to learn the standard thread and what applications they are used for.

i too am facing a problem of attaching a butane torch to 1/4'' Bsw thread figure ill just weld it.
