Thanks!

We decided we are going to try shooting 2 liter bottles converted into rockets off these with the smooth barrel. Most of mine have a sleve over the end near the muzzle but he didnt want that on his. I decided to make one like his with the Nerf colors

I used a sparker from walmart with the battery in it. I was able to run about 5' of wire off that sparker and still get a nice spark. Im thinking ill just leave it on the ground and it can be a foot switch. Tap it with your toe or a stick to ignite it.

And thats Rascal :cat:

I love the flame job cannon. It makes me want to add flames to my combustion cannon. Good work!

Are those rivets in the blue nerf cannon in the vid?

I like the rivet look. Makes me think of brushed aluminum like a p-51 or b-29. I'd love to paint a cannon like that.

Thanks!

they are not i took some foil tape i bought some years back for a guitar i rewired. I put the foil on the inside of the cavity and on the cavity plate to shield the electronics. Ive since used it for other things here and there mainly for stickers though.

I used a paper hole punch and just punched a bunch of them and stuck them on. I kinda like that rivets also it makes it look more machine like. I think i used to many im going to peel a few off, i forgot i added those to that cannon i need to add some to my motar now so they both kinda match.

I have this roll of contact paper that looks like brushed aluminum or stainless steel i thought about putting on one of my larger cannons but decided the combonation wouldnt look right. Maybe ill try it and see how it looks.

Rivets or not they look good. Sometimes it's the little things that make all the difference. Keep it up!

Has anyone thought of this one before? I was hopeing they would both fire at the same time and create like a chord of explosions, one being deep and one being higher pitched but i never thought about the resistance of the 2 being different. They spark together but a little bit apart like one fires then it charges the cap back up then the other one fires a milisecond apart. They are both different too, first the larger one goes then the small then vise versa on the next fire.

I thought maybe its the gaps i have the screws apart but im not sure, the wires art identical in length and stuff either.

With all these cannons my neighbors will be ready to move after 4th of july im sure of it. :D

I never thought of that! That's a great idea. Multiple cannon simultaneous ignition! I'm going to have to think on this one.

Two ideas...

1: You are using a parallel circuit, try using them in series? You have a positive and a negative wire running to each cannon( or each spark gap). Try running a positive from your ignition to one cannon, then a wire from the negative on that cannon to the positive on the other cannon and then a negative back to your ignition. I think this will fix you issue. If not try #2.

#2: Could you use two separate ignition systems with a switch that activates both at the same time. If both are separate your ignition doesn't have to recharge to fire the second cannon. Right?

I couldnt really tell much difference, i always wear ear plugs they are pretty loud. Nothing like the spud guns i see videos of on youtube you hear the woosh of the potatoe and the dong of the PVC

Mine has a little ring to it in a few of the videos and its something on my car i think the exhaust pipes or something ringing from the blast

I sort of slowly work up the power of them, the longer you wait the more gas developes from the carbide and the larger the bang is. So i sort of start quick and then slowly build it up while i watch the joints and stuff.
