This is a rough sketch of the next cannon i am working on. The drawing is not accurate, but it will hava a control panel and cup holders. It will have a 10 foot golf ball barrel and can also interchange to a 5 foot long 3" barrel. It will have a 6" chamber 15" long using metered propane. The stand will include an air cylinder to adjust the elevation; to adjust windage you just kick the the corner of the stand in the direction you want it to go . The ignition will be using a disposable camera and the 3 electrode set up. The cannon is due to be done by New Years Eve. IF any suggestions please post.

I strongly advise you not to use the three electrode setup. I tried it and had lots of problems. It is very hard to get the electrodes so close and perfect. Just buy a step-up transformer and a relay. It'll save you a lot of time and trouble.

Thanks for the insight. I have not had problems with it though, yet. If I do have any problems with it I will probably go with a taser igniter.

Karpa! I got the 6" fittings yesterday. You owe me about 45 bucks whenever the invoice gets here. Had to hose em off because they had all sorts of dust and crap all over em.

And trust me, karpa... if we can't get the three electrode system to work, I'll eat my hat. I just threw together a test rig together early this morning. Still works like the first time.

No. I'm just a "consultant".

Mainly, I'm his hookup with parts and fittings. He's just using my McMaster account.

So far, we've got the pneumatics for elevation in and I hooked em up to the 4-way control and fill control, and then I got all the large diameter fittings shipped in yesterday.

He's still the mastermind behind the whole thing.

I got the SDR-21 but I still need to get the 2" SCH-80 because Dawsey didnt have it. Its going to be hard to get any time soon because of Christmas and all. I got the switches and the regulator and I also built the frame today, fits in my trailer nicely. I will get you the money anytime just let me know when. Find out when you can make it over also.

Your making something this big and its not even gonna be a pneumatic ?

Well, I'm more of a combustion guy. I also like it because it requires the design to be more complicated. It basically gives me something to do this holiday.

yes, that is why a lot of cannons get built around this time. take prof, for instance....

This is just my only chance to work on a project like this. Otherwise I have to worry about school and what not. This is also the first cannon I have built in about a year. When I was out of school after the hurricane I had plenty of time.

where do you live? florida? Louisiana?

Louisiana. About 30 miles north of New Orleans.
