hybrid questions...
wait a second, didnt you just say the other day that you have never built a combustion? im not trying to rain of your birthday party here, but you need to build a combustion before you can build a hybrid.
anyway, i just took a 3/4'' threaded plug (pvc plug) and stuck a 1/8'' threaded rod through it and attached to other wire directly to the chamber. it makes a nice 2'' spark in the chamber.
this is the easy way out and i dont recomend it because it is easy to shock your self with a stun gun in this set up. i suggest a lower powered one, like 100,000 volts. they produce sparks just as well and dont hurt as much as the bigger ones.
the best way (and i do mean the best way) is to wire up a spark plug.

bute anyway i am getting a 100,000 v stun gun.. should i just get one off ebay? so i should jsut wire it up to a spark plug? where do i hook it to on the spark plug and how do i get it into my chamber?

Bumping a thread 4 hours after you posted it isn't really necessary... is it?spudthug wrote:bumpage....come on peopl i need some effing help!! as soon as someone helps i delete this...please guys...i only have this weekend to get the stuff drilled and stuff....sorry to sound mean and stuff but i am a little p oed right now...
Anyway, it's pretty simple, dude.
The stun gun has two main electrodes and two "default" electrodes. When the stungun fires, the arc will jump between the main electrodes unless the gap is too big; in that case it falls back to the "default" electrodes. This means you can wire up the main electrodes to any spark gap you want as long as
A) it's not bigger than the default gap
B) the wiring is insulated properly
Find a drill bit that's just a bit smaller than the threaded part of the spark plug. Better too small than too big here. Drill the hole (straight as possible) where you want it, preferably where two pieces of PVC overlap (where a fitting and pipe overlap...) for extra strength.
Then, using a socket wrench (most socket wrench sets have a socket specially made for spark plugs), tap the plug into the hole until it's flush. Use a new spark plug, not a used one. They're cheap.
If you have a tap/die set, use that, but I doubt you'll have one in the right size, so you can use the spark plug to tap it's own threads as I detailed above.
Take two lengths of thick, well-insulated wire.
Solder one wire to the metal body (outside part, where the threads are) of the spark plug.
Solder the other wire to the tip of the spark plug (the opposite end of the spark gap).
Solder the other ends of these two wires to the main electrodes on the stun gun (one on each electrode). You're done. You can be fancy and take the stungun guts out of it's case and put it into a project box with a safety switch and "armed" light, etc... if you want to - look around the forum at other people who have done the same.
You could wire it to two or more spark plugs, also. In fact, as many as you want, as long as the TOTAL GAP is less than the default gap, and you use good, thick, insulated wire.
There are also some relevant articles in the Wiki.
You're welcome.
Peace,
Pete Zaria.

pete my chamber is metal....not pvc...and anyway u cant solder one to the threads....how would u run it to the stun gun? so i need some more suggestions...
EDIT: sorry pete...i mis understood i jsut looked at a spark plug and there is threads that would stick out and i understand now waht u meant...
i still have 2 problems though....
1. i dont know how to thread it in.
2. this isnt really a problem but how big should the gap be in the spark plug? should i bend the bottom metal peice out so its a larger spark?
oh and pete if u you could explain to me how i could hook up multiple spark plugs up to one stun gun? i think i will probably do that...

Hi,
I'd try to make a spark plug out of a 1/4 or 1/8" fitting (nipple), a nylon/PVC rod, a wire and a minimum amount of epoxy. Or get a spark plug for an R/C model engine or something like that. All depending on what I could find / borrow a threading tap for, or what threaded holes there are in the components of the gun.
Maybe it's just me hating large globs-o-glue...
Regards
Soren

A schrader valve is one easy way to go. Just get some tweezers and unscrew the valve in the middle of the stem. An 18 guage wire (fine for BBQ igniters) fits perfectly through the hole. Use a bit of epoxy to make sure it'll hold and you're good to go.

I got a spark plug for a motor scooter and I used a die of slightly smaller threads and threaded my spark plug to a normal thread type and just used the normal tap to make my hole.
