What I've been working on

Seeing as I haven't posted anything interesting in a while, I guess I'll slip a little.
This is a 2" porting, steel inline piston valve I made in my spare time at my new job. It still needs some grinding and a finished piston, but it seems to be functioning very well even though the piston isn't even sealed/epoxied yet.
I may coat the outside in bondo and sand it down to make a nice smooth surface. I don't like the uneven look of freshly ground welds.
Feel free to spam/speculate away!
why do people read this?

Damn, thats amazing. What mix do you plan on using? Can't wait to see this thing in action. I look forward to see the bondo finish.

i like it, what are you planning on using it for?

So it's similar to a sprinkler valve in operation (with the ports switched around to be "barrel sealing")?
I haven't posted in a while either, but I can't say I've been doing anything meaningful in my absence.

Hope it's a piston hybrid.
More pics/completed!!! (Please)
I've enjoyed all your builds!

LOL that's awesome... please tell me it's not going to be a handheld launcher

if it was handheld it would be a plane because of the recoil

My next big project obviously, which being in the hybrid section would make it my next big hybrid project

To my knowledge, yes. I thought most sprinklers were barrel sealers though (?). I've never seen one in person, actually.

freaking HUGE!
(I think I gave you a rough idea in a pm once. It's not crazy huge, but easily considered "full-size".)

...Umm, you are joking... right?
Or do you like entering orbit every time you fire?

Keep in mind the power will be limited by the how heavy it can be (the valve weighs around 10 lbs by itself).
The weight will also help with recoil; I have a combustion launcher of comparable weight and power which still has considerable recoil, but based on my observations so far, it should be survivable* with a heavily padded stock.
It might end up being the most powerful handheld out there though. For a while at least.
Edit: though if I had access to titanium, I'd be using the recoil to jump between rooftops in some bizarre combination of spudding/parkour
/quake3.
