metered pump

Harness the power of precision mixtures of pressurized flammable vapor. Safety first! These are advanced potato guns - not for the beginner.

I think this is the right place to put this.
In forklifts and some other vehicles that run off propane, they have a demand regulator on them that will only dispense propane when there is a vacume from the carbourator. I was wondering how practical it would be to install one of these regulators on a pump (non electrical in case of spark) for use in hybrids. It would make things simpler because all you would have to do is inject the gun once then pump it up to whatever pressure you want.
I am asking this because I have access to one of these regulators and want to use it for something.

Edit: A beter way to do it would be to have it so the first couple pumps each contain enough fuel for 1 or more atmospheres, then shut the propane off to pump the rest of the way.

You seem to know a lot more about this regulator than I do. Assuming it's a pressure regulator, sure you could definitely bodge it into an injection system. If it doesn't have a direct psi-regulation knob on it, you can do tests to see what sorts of psi and flow it outputs, and then adapt that to whatever your use it.

If you could post more specs about it, I might be able to provide more helpful information.

Why would you need one??????
It seems liek you don't grasp the hybrid concept.

A regulator and a 3-way solenoid valve w/ meter pipe will do the same job with much lower cost and effort required, but interesting idea none the less.

Check out the meter system on "Revolver X": http://www.advancedspuds.com/revxfuel.htm
