This is the first BBMG i have made. It's all 1 inch PVC and i used brake line for the barrel. It shoots plastic airsoft bbs. I don't have anyway to test the FPS or fire rate and haven't had time yet. I'm using a blow gun for the valve and i have fired at 80 PSI like in the video. It still can use some work like the grip. I will end up redoing it since i just used a bunch of tape on it. The ammo chamber can hold around 1200 bbs. Let me know what ya think and what i can do to improve on it.

EDIT:
I was informed that my gun was more of a cloud then a vortex because the barrel was in the middle of the cap so i pulled it out epoxied the hole and covered it with electrical tape. I then went a little higher on the cap and drilled a new hole and epoxied the barrel. I have a picture of it i will post tomorrow morning. Hope this works

Vortex Cap is one of the most simple designs.

Just a Tube with a Cap.. Air inlet and Barrel perpendicular to each other.

Since the shape of a cap/tube is round, it will do the same thing as a vortex block. It is also easier to construct because you don't have to make a block, drill a vortex hole , and two other holes(one for barrel and one for air inlet. Not to mention making sure the chamber is air tight)

A vortex cap is simply 2 holes that need to be drilled.. one for your barrel and one for your air inlet and you are finished..


So I am glad you made a Vortex Cap as it is a great design for beginners and experts a-like.

I am also glad that you decided to replace your barrel up higher so its more of a vortex system rather than a cloud. Also you can add a simple plunger in your vortex cap as it does provide better feeding which in-turn will increase efficiency and Rate Of Fire.

Also the number one thing that I have seen lacking in most vortex caps or vortex blocks is the barrel sticking too far into the vortex hole. This will make it harder for the BBs to feed. Yes since air is being fed into the chamber it will need to escape and it will take BBs with it, but if you have a smoother "ramp" into your barrel, it will decrease the chance of BB's missing the barrel and being recycled into the chamber.

I pulled the barrel out and epoxied the hole and the new barrel in. I shot a burst this morning and it fired but i haven't had time to full out fire it yet. I will this afternoon. And yes i tried making the barrel as flush with the pvc as i could but since it was a curve it was a little harder but i got it pretty close. Would a plunger/spring increase the performance a lot? If so how do i go about making one? A small piece of pvc with a round circle on the end to push the bbs down?
