Okay, I'd like some expert advice on this. This is a design I made several years ago when I was 15, but never bothered to try building.

It is a spring-powered, muzzle-loading, pull-back-and-release (No trigger mechanism) airsoft carbine. As one can tell, it was designed to be as absolutely simple as possible, while still resembling a gun.

My question is: Before I try to build this, does this look like it would actually work? Are there any functional problems with the design, or does anyone have any suggestions for improvement? (I'm aware of the lack of reinforcement at the barrel-joint, and I've got a solution for that.) Also, is there a simple way to prevent the BB from rolling out of place until fired?

No, It will not work. Are you the person who posted a thread asking if it was possible to make an airsoft gun for under $50. If so, I want you to PM me, and I'll help you out.

You could try mounting a tiny magnet at the breech end of your barrel to stop
your ammo running back out the end of it... Going to try this method on my
muzzleloader build.

Can't help you with the rest of it though. I'm learning in "noob school"

If you get it to seal, then it will work, with poor to terrible performance. Go to a hardware store, buy a pistol grip blowgun for about $10, chuck on a threaded shrader, jam a barrel in, and enjoy.

Without a proper trigger, you might as well be throwing handfuls of BBs at your opponents.

have a look at this: http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/6mm-cro ... t7946.html

Too much work for not so much power.

Hmm... that's disappointing. I was sure that this would work, as I was really hoping for something cheaply mass-producible that I could just cobble together out of junk.
Also, compressed-air systems won't work for me, as I need the gun to be portable. :homework:

What's stopping you from getting a shock pump? I'm sure Jack can tell you how little it takes to fill a tiny chamber. Which reminds me, I need to buy one.

And that emoticon is telling me something...

If ur asking if something will work the answer is most likely no. this design is missing a lot of necessary aspects.
WHY PAY FOR IT WHEN U CAN MAKE IT?
