Multi-Shot Air gun Advice

Hey,
I am only new to air cannons. I have made a very simple single shot air cannon and wondering if anyone had a design for a multi-shot air cannon using a slide valve and a quick exhaust valve. Also my air compressor only goes to 100 psi so is it worth getting a pressure regulator. If I get a regulator can CO2 paint ball regulators work for air.

Thanks and please reply :D

Ninja paintball has great regulators for paintball tanks. The SLP is 300 psi and then you can get a regulator from palmer's (palmerspursuit.com I think) called the stabilizer that lets you regulate to whatever pressure you want.

Use compressed air, not C02 for safety and better performance. Paintball field and stores or Scuba shops have it.

it can work but 100 psi is to low even to regulate....
You may use an old fridge compressor to recharge your gun with 40 bar. but also this is a low pressure. ........
YOu want to put a regulator just to get multishoot ?

Do you want to be able to do multiple shots without it being connected to the compressor?
If not, most compressors have a regulator ...a slidevalve and QEV will give you multishot and
the regulator from the compressor wil make the shots fairly consistent,

If you want to use the cannon as a precharged pneumatic, without the compressor attached, you'll need an onboard bulk tank to refill the reservoir,

Another method ( my favorite) would be to modify a QEV with a small equalisation hole ( not in the centre!!) and pilot it with a hammervalve,
Tapping the pilot will then fire the QEV.

A weak spring behind it's piston will help to keep the QEV closed during initial filling,Once under pressure, the piston will be kept closed by pressure, it will reseat instantly after the pilot valve closes, so hammering the pilotvalve will give you short pops from the QEV.

This way you won't need a second airtank.

I only have a compressor that goes to 100psi, so what is a fridge compressor? I have always wondered.
I want to put a regulator on so i can adjust the pressure in the firing tank to a lower pressure than in the main tank.
I only want to shoot bbs in this multi-shot so i don't need as much pressure as i used in my single shot air cannon to shoot golf balls.

Thanks for the replies :)

A fridge compressor is the motor behind your refrigerator. to shoot multishoot you need high pressure or else you will have a chinese toy. BB's, cause they are smaller, needs higher pressure than golf balls.
So my choice will be a hammered valve fire extinguisher or as BTB saied "Another method ( my favorite) would be to modify a QEV with a small equalisation hole ( not in the centre!!) and pilot it with a hammervalve,

but bbs dont need as much volume?

no they need only a small volume of air(relised very fast) at higher pressure....a large volume may affect the bb's trajectory ....but you wont get more power.

I have managed to make an air compressor out of an old freezer. In pumps air fine but sometimes it stops and then starts up a few minutes later. Does anyone know the problem or know how to prevent it.
Please reply
Thanks

you must remove the termic resistance from inside that black box on the motor. It is there to stop the motor to override. Either the resistance is not good anymore or the motor is very old .....remove it and it will work fine. It usualy happens in the winter time when the motor need a little bit more power to run (cuz it's cold)

thanks bravootome for replying
is the termic resistance the coil on the motor.

not the coil, the other one ( it is usualy round shape). plug your motor an listen to a "click" sound when the motor stops. That part must be removed away of the circuit . YOu dont just remove it, also must connect the wires back....( my english is not good so i dont know to explain better )
