Yes, handgun size or smaller.
I'd be of the thinking that we don't compare a 2mm gun with a 10mm one, because that's a huge are difference.
Why?
Of course the 10mm has more power, but that's where the power-to-size ratio* comes in.

*Doesn't have to be calculated IMO, just keep in mind when judging a mini.

How about "something that can fit into an A4 box file" :D

When broken down or assembled?

A4 size sounds sort of alright. I had planned on a high powered gun of 3cc or so chamber volume, shooting lightweight rounds past the SOS. However I had counted on a rather long barrel, so I may have to improvise.

Lets do A4.

Why not rename it to pengun contest and make it the size of a pen, roughly?

By the way, who else started?

No, that would limit the scope of the challenge and make entries predictable and boring.

I've always wanted to take one of these and fit an auto inside, a sort of little brother to the MP5K briefcase ;)

Mp5K is a lot longer then the A4 sheet of paper :D

How about, people can enter what they want, but if it is too large, it will automatically receive less votes because other people do not think it is small enough.
Set guidelines not limits.

<looks> Lardas hygac would qualify if he shortened the barrel...<ducks>

Without actually going and checking dimensions, if he managed an over/under barrel setup with a smaller bore barrel it would probably qualify.

Probably a better idea than a piece of paper. User discretion.

I am also all for this! Small low budget challenges where brain counts over money is very fun.
I would like to suggest that we restrict some tools. That's because the few who have machine tools on here would unquestionably win. Like if Larda made a 1000x mini hybrid with preloaded cartridges. That would be comparable to someone cheating in a game and gets a big advantage over the other ones. A guy like Larda should do completely fine against us with "normal" tools.

Don't let this die.

We need all the entries we can get. It's going to be obvious if someone's used machine tools when they made it, and someone who's made something impressive without the use of advanced tools will no doubt get extra credit for it.

How long does everyone want/need?

I dunno, if it's very recently you might get in. For example Crowley's co-ax will be in..
