Lol, use a cap as propellant? Definitely not, it's a simple, cheap, safe and small primer for the very small cartridges I'm making.

I make my own energetic 'magic powders'.

316 stainless, how did you find it cut?

Try some 303 stainless, its free machining, cuts like butter and surface finish is like a mirror

It's a little bit of a pain, but not that bad. The only bad part really is drilling holes, due to it's poor conductivity the end of the drill gets very hot. Some kero works wonders though.

This comes up to a nice finish with a little work though. I guess I'll buy some 303 when my 316 runs out.

316 is a little like 304 stainless.

Remember this rhyme,

304, she's a Wh*re

303, she's for me :D

I used to have to use something like Wet and Dry sandpaper or something to get a nice finish, but after getting my big lathe and I now use indexable tools pretty much exclusivley, nothing is needed, Looks like is has come off a CNC machine.
