is it a pen or a gun?

Miniature guns are novelty custom, unique, and sometime downright crude! Common construction materials often include pill bottles or pens. Show us your work!

Nicely done :)

I was trying to use the same pen model here, but in a way that the firing mechanism could be removed so the pen could still be used as a pen.

It may seal better at higher pressure mine leaks until you hit 25 psi then seals perfectly
That is all.

Hmm. I've seen all of these genuine pen-guns (i.e. those actually built from pens) recently, and I do have a serious question.

What exactly is the legality behind this kind of thing? As far as I understand, even under the US' rather liberal gun laws (well, by the standards I live by, almost all gun laws are liberal), guns (even if pneumatic) which are disguised as another object can constitute a rather major criminal offence (although it may vary by state).

Sure, when they didn't look that much like pens, it was another matter, but now people are actually building them into pens, I think it's a question that really needs an answer.

"Cartridge", because in this case a schrader valve will actually fit inside the pen body unlike the parker so I can make a "conventional" firing unit.

usually 3mm ball bearings, or cut down nails with tape tails.

Impressive, how did you make them?

On this scale I don't think it would make a huge difference, besides talking about accuracy on a pen gun that doesn't have sights or an ergonomic grip and trigger is missing the point to some extent...

my dad has a grinder similar to this one
http://dental-lab.cn/?p=3&a=view&r=19
and i used a cutting disk and shaped them out of nails, and i didnt think that would make much difference but i thought it would be kinda cool to have some mini air gun pellets to use, plus i was really bored so yea...
