Is a 3D drawing not made with 2D drawings from different perspectives?

No, 2D drawings are cut-throughs or side-views from 3D models.

Its just that sometimes, with complex structured units, it may be hard to view that in 2D. ie: when there are multiple things behind eachother.
Ofcourse, you can make several drawings from several perspectives, but instead you could make a 3D model and just screenshot all perspectives you need OR even send/show the 3D file so that the people you are showing it to will be able to pick their own perspectives.


And as I said, google sketchup is not an heavy 3D rendering program that takes alot of time, its just a light and simple tool which allows you to QUICKLY create shapes and objects. Its like paint, but then in 3D

i printed all the pvc size info from this forum. i meant a file with premade parts for sketchup.

The thing is, nobody is going to want to do this.

Here's a suggestion: whenever you decide to model a cannon, make all the parts as components, save them, and when you have gathered up a few, submit them.

i have 14 years of drawing board experience and almost 3 years of AutoCAD. i just think designs out in my head (combustions so far) and run B:C ratios on a simple calculator.

i got my first sprinkler valve a few days ago, so i will begin my first pneumatic design soon. i may go with 2-3 air chambers, in a folded design with a multi-piece barrel (i have a smart car, not much room to cart things around, length-wise), but i will sketch it out on paper, going to menards/home depot to size out fittings.

Hey i was reading the thread and i made a silencer/suppressor type thing for my pellet gun.

flour it cheaper but talc (baby powder) is much better. it gives a better smoke effect. flower is too moist and clumps. so if u compact it it will try to stay that way.

i used talc in an airsoft grenade. if the powder got on u in the blast then u were out. it's also easier to clean up and off clothes. flour is way too messy and heavy.

Flour's okay for high-energy impacts. We used to use flour bombs on our R/C planes to find where they crashed.

I also finished a better model, as well. I made everything as components so that people who are interested can dissect it and use the parts in their models.
