The pumpkin cannot be destroyed, cut down , wadded, saboted, or modified in any way.

Yes, but you can grow your own.

If I was in the comp, I'd make a clear plastic shell/mold for the pumpkin to grow inside. That way you could force them into a perfect sphere shape or give them golf-ball like dimples to reduce drag.

I'd also think about puting a space heater inside the gun's chamber.

Hi,

I'm cominnnnnnnnn! From Switzerland. Expect a prize for range, although not pumpkin range.

Could be cool to meet som of ya, but how do we recognize each other? Bringing my new DFTV-based STS-46 (Spud Transportation System) super pneumatic PVC gun on the flight is not an option.

Regards
Soren

Seriously? Your coming? @Fnord, wouldn't it look like you modified your ammo? How would you keep the growing pumpkin from breaking the mould? Just wonderin....

They allow you to grow your own pumpkins, so many people add tons of lime to the soil to make them extremely tough. If they still let them shoot those (they turn white when fed lime), I don't see how you wouldn't be allowed to shoot a deformed or "mutant" looking pumpkin.

A thick mold made of lexan could be vaccuum formed into shape, and would be nearly impossible to break. It would be made in 2 parts, of course, to make it re-usable.

Maybe. Have you seen what little plants do to granite? They crack it open. You would just want to make sure that you don't let the pumpkin grow so long that it strains too much against the mould.
