Ugh, that sucks... Home Depot doesn't carry pressure pipe larger than 2", which annoys me to no end. But, their copper pipe is super cheap, at about $1 a foot for 3/4"!

i totally agree with ammo, my HD (havent checked lowes) does not carry over 2" pressure rated. they have 4" solid core abs for soem weird reason.

my real local store (2 min bike ride) is absolutly fantastic. they have all pressure rated pvc until 2" and they also have sdr21 in up to 2". they have all the fittings you would need and can order you some if they dont have it. the people there are great, super friendly, really smart in what they are doing and enjoy spudding as well. i've brought in some guns to shoot at plywood in the back (garden center)..LOL

btw, this is ace hardware =)

I work at a hardware store and Ive been trying to get pressure rated stuff for so long. The only parts that are rated are 3/4 or less.
But when anyone else ask me, what are you looking to do and I say anything about a cannon, I become a terrorist in the store to them.
On the plus side, Im the guy they ask about plumbing parts and sprinklers now.

My hardware store is just a nice biking distance awaY(i'm going there soon to get a barrell).
My complaints are:
-They cut the pipe unevenly, means i have to cut it again at home
-overpriced stuff; I paid 5 for a cleanout cap and adapter
-cant find QEVs or sprinkler valves
-not 2.5'' pipe

But at least the gyu there is friendly and picks the parts i need..although its usually DWV.
well, this isn't much isn't it?

I don't know I live in an area with a lot of them, so i can always check the others.

The only thing I don't like is buying long sections of pressure rated steel that has to be cut when I need a specific length, and paying for what i don't need.

oh, and when new guys get hired in the plumbing department who don't know shit, and give you dirty looks once they think they know what you are going to build.

Most hardware stores are slightly overpriced compared to big retail stores like Lowes or Home Depot, and I also believe most hardware stores in the US don't sell QEV's and 2.5" pipe is quite rare unless bought online in some places and Sprinkler valves aren't usually found at smaller hardware stores as well.

Well, I used to hate my hardware store, until I discovered Smith Irrigation supply. I've been there ONCE, and within (I'm not exaggerating in the least!) 3 seconds, I saw parts from 1/2" to 8 INCHES. I KID YOU NOT. A far cry from the 2" and less from Diamond home improvement! There could be even bigger diameters, but I was on a tight schedule, and couldn't hang around for long. Everything is pressure rated, and they carry SDR-21! (I've been looking everywhere, and I've finally found a golfball barrel!!!!!) The only con I can think of is that the owners are kind of mean, and they only sell pipe in 20' lengths.
