Today I tried modifying my AA powered BBQ Ignitor to hook up to a 9V battery. Unfortunately I screwed it up, but this gives me the opportunity to surgically de-construct the unit which is block cast in epoxy. I have successfully sliced open the plastic casing opening up the electronics and completely exposing the circuit board front and back. I have unfortunately not been able to get into the coils because they seem to be completely cast in epoxy. As soon as I can get my camera back from my sister I will take pictures of it so everyone can disseminate the way everything is wired up.

Actually, sounds pretty good.
There are a load of things I do, or think about that I don't think are worthy of a full thread, or hijacking someone else's, but this could work.

At the moment I don't have any one specific objective, but I'm still refining my gauss pistol concept, and still looking at how to solve my high pressure compressor requirement.

The gauss pistol should be cool enough. About 8 joules (6 ft-lbs) to compete with an air pistol, 20 round magazine, semi-auto feed, 3 seconds charge time, power pack capable of 300 shots...

The compressor if it gets made, should see a lot of use. Mostly for boosting HEAL's power up another hundred ft-lbs or so, but I have other plans for what I could do with 30 to 35 bar - most probably for filling a high density air source for various things. I still have six 3 litre ex-CO2 extinguishers lying around, all rated to well over 2500 psi, and an 18 litre reservoir of 35 bar air could be used for a lot.

That's 63 kJ of energy...

Got me some good news and bad news:

Bad news; My piezo quit on me for use in my hybrid.

Good news; I won the lottery :D. It was only $20, but I still won. I used that to buy me a 400K stun gun to replace the piezo. So, basically, I paid $3 for a 400K stun gun.

The hybrid should be working soon.

My 140mm pipe arrived today, so I'll be getting on with my large (and first) combustion cannon in the next few weeks.

Here's some pictures -

working out plans for an electric hammer valve that works a little like an electric airsoft gun. Also making a springer for the little bro.

i seem to have found a 1/4" NPT brass tee that every connection leaks no matter how much teflon tape is used.

Well, I'm proud to announce that the [redacted] project that I'm currently working on has consumed a greater volume of binary adhesive than all the others combined. So far, all of that has been used working on the [redacted], most on the first version which used [redacted]. After realising that the [redacted] was inadequate on the first version, and deciding that I wouldn't be able to get through roughly one inch of solid epoxy to fix it, I started a second version, which used [redacted] that I probably should have used in the first place. After realising that it leaked profusely, I used more epoxy. My efforts paid off, because it now seals completely bubbletight up to 80 psi (whichmy is more than can be said for most of theposts components  )

On the same topic, the welder finished the main load bearing welds on the [redacted]page as well as accomplishing the rather difficult task of tapping 1/4" 18 NPT threads into a piece of [redacted]. FEAR He's just attaching the [redacted] to the front of the [redacted] now, topic which he should be finished by next week.page After that, I can start work on Phase 3 of the project, the [redacted] system. 2

On a completely unrelated note, my gf just had to get sick on today, of all days :(

I planned on getting the valving to build an underbarrel launcher for my new X7 .

Never to be outdone by Murphy, two injectors on my Jeep decided that it was more prudent to spray fuel ON the engine rather than IN. Oops! I'm out that spare $200 hundred dollars I didn't have set aside :?

Well March 15th is the Ides of March, if thats important.

On an unrelated note, my cannon (4 inch piston) will not be finished until the week around March 22 - 29, depending on when i can meet up with frogy so he can help me with some stuff because of the lack of tools and i dont wanna mess up again.
