Product lineups in large chains differ in different areas. I doubt you'll find a sprinkler unless they're in season.

I'm in Canada and I see sprinkler valves everywhere. Granted, they're well hidden, and cost $30. Best to buy em online.

If you click on the BCARMS link in the top left corner, you can get an already modded 1" sprinkler valve.
They're on sale now also.
Good deal because you'll get the fittings and hose and blow nozzle. 8)

Does it have to be a rainbird?
I've seen sprinkler valves at a co-op farm store, Rona, and at Home Depot.
Check in plumbing and in the gardening areas.
Cost around here is pretty consistent @ about 23.00 for 1" threaded.

At my home depot in california I can get orbit watermaster 1" valves for $12. Pretty good deal, although quality can be sketchy. I know a lot of people say this, but I'd just make a piston valve for the 25 bucks (us), it would be a better valve, and they are amazingly simple and easy to make. Just my .02
