The US has it pretty easy in regards to weapons in comparison to Australia. I'm not sure about some other countries, but exactly as moonbogg stated, airsoft guns are illegal without a firearms licence, and even then its near impossibe (I think) to import them due to strict customs and border security rules. This also includes spudguns. Technically, you need a firearms licence to simply own and operate one. I'm pretty lucky that the cops in my town get lots of farmers toying with them, because when they rocked up at my place at 8pm one night with noise complaints I was suprised that they weren't furious . They just told me to keep it down a little, maybe not use it so close to peoples property. They should have confiscated the item and I could have been charged with illegal possession or something. That was just a spray n' pray too lol

Well, i guess keeping things low profile is a good idea. I get a weird feeling reading solar's post a kind of "hehe, guess what i wanna do in a few years...". Really be smart, don't buy acetone and H2O2 together, or a bunch of fuses and metal pipes. Don't go out on the street and shoot buildings.
Be smart
Don't be an idiot
Stay low profile
It is simple and it should keep the world's greatest hobby alive.(also ever considered that commercial airguns, paintball and airsoft would have to be banned along with spudguns. If not there will be loopholes which people with a brain will exploit.)

keeping low profile seems to be the best advice really... you are safe as long as no one knows about your hobby... generally speaking that translates to try to make your guns as little annoying / noticeable for others as possible...

Moonbogg, I will see you there!Well damn it, I want to build a friggin cannon that takes 5 men to carry and I want to march through the streets of Washington DC with it and we can all hold signs with Mr Potato Head giving the bird, all in the name of freedom!
Low Profile...Yep, That's Me...
Seriously though, Us older folks can get away with being hi profile with this hobby as opposed to being lowprofile(read:suspicious)...
Now, you youngsters, While being low-profile in your use of spudguns, prolly should NOT be sneaky about your lowprofiledness(I used it, so yes, it's a real word) otherwise you are going to arouse unwanted/unwarranted attention...
on a somewhat regular basis I buy large quantities of diesel fuel and several tons of fertilizer...Do I bring suspicion? No, because I've got farm tags and calloused hands... If I did the same thing with a uhaul van and a manicure, I'd draw LOTS of suspicion...
I'm rambling Now, so Carry on...

arghhh!!!!!! I can't wait!!!!!!As a manufacturer of the Eclipse I have had the mis-pleasure of busting up a stakeout that an outside agency had placed in front of my property. When I called 911, the operator informed me that the agents had already notified them that I would be calling. 400 feet of 6061 from Sweden via Canada did the trick there. Get to know who you need to know before they get to know you. Now I am meeting with people I can't even speak of. The new age of air weapons for military and police forces is upon us. Trickle down theory at it's finest. Wait until you all see what I have been up to.
