Alright so this will be my third combustion. all of my others have been way too loud and the neighbors think im shooting a 12 guage shotgun.
The chamber is 4 inch Pvc and 8 nches long the barrel is 30 inches long and 2.5 inch pvc for tennis balls. i need this to bee extremly quite. like a .177 calibre long rifle. i am using metered propane and a copy of the HiS that boogieman used on his hybrid. if you have any suggedtions i would greatly appreciate it. i have no trouble getting specialty parts to make a silencer if i have to.

quite combustion is as an oxymoron as long white or honest liar or death penalty for attempted suicide
you have to vent all of the combustion gases SLOWLY AND BEFORE the projectile clears the barrel, which sacrafices power

i dont need much power. i just need it to be able to shoot a tennis ball 100 yards

Make sure you have a low, c/b ratio, like 1:.5 or .6.

I thnk you mean .6:1 or .5:1. And yes, the smaller the ratio, the quieter it will be.
If you want a quiet gun then some power will be sacrificed but not so much if you use somewhere around.8:1 and .6:1. That will actually give you the most power and should be relatively quiet. Sound is wasted energy.

I have a long and short tennis ball barrell ,a 5' and a 2' , they will fit on more than one cannon I have ,one of them only slightly larger in capacity than the 4" by 8" chamber you mentioned is loud ,very loud with the short or long barrel. The quietest barrels I have are the 1 1/2" by 60" for spuds ,and seems to be very efficient if you want distance. Two of my c annons have pvc handles in front of the chamber with momentary push buttons installed to actuate the stun gun ,,I have 4 barrels that fit either one of them. This is my favorite design so far.

Well the sizes you have now are just about right. If anything, you could add a few inches to the barrel but it should be fairly quiet as it is.
