Ok I have 30$ to spend on a cannon I'm saving the rest of my money for a different project anyway I want something powerful and accurate but 30$ US isn't much for a cannon . I want to shoot paintball mortar type shells and smoke bombs but would the pressures in the combustion be to high for paintball bombs like would they burst in the barrel? Also what's a good igniter available at either Walmart target homedepot menards or ace hardware also what's a good size barrel I want to make something similare to a panzer shriek or law

A combustion only makes about 100psi i belive, its easy cheap and transportable. But it will not be easy to regulate. I would go for pneumatic, you can regulate it and if you want faster firing then you can have a pre filled cylinder and just fill from that, will cost more though.

If you plan on using it for paintball you probably can't use a combustion, just because of field rules and/or reliability.

A pneumatic might cost a little more. PVC is cheap, but you'll blow most of the money on a valve unless you make your own.

I probably spent about 30 bucks on that little plinker I posted yesterday, but it's got a bit more work put into it than a first cannon usually has.

If going the combustion route, just use a cheapo long-nose lighter and take the piezo out of it. A regular one will set you back about $10.

Unless you want to carry around a damn air compressor, go combustion.
