So I'm not sure where I read it, but I remember (vaguely) somewhere on these boards was a post saying were not allowed to discuss explosives? But then there exists a whole section discussing combustion cannons, and even posts where carbide is used, so I'm just a bit confused as to where my next project lands. A while back, I saw a video on YouTube where .22 blanks were used to fire .177 pellets that I believe landed between 2000-3000+ FPS. So I got ambitious and bought myself a pack of these blanks, I was planning to buy larger ammo so it wouldn't break the sound barrier, and make a suppressor so it wouldn't be so loud. I ended up never touching any of the blanks, and completely forgot about them until I was cleaning out some stuff the other day and found them, and I'd rather not toss them out. So, would such a project be open to discussion on this forum?

You're getting into rule 3 here; "Discussion of solid propellants, explosive devices or incendiary projectiles fired specifically from a spud cannon is prohibited."

The explanation is: "A - Solid propellant: Any substance containing all the chemical elements required to enable sustained combustion without the presence of additional oxidizers. This includes but is not limited to gunpowder, thermite, and many commercial and/or homemade pyrotechnic compounds."

The rules button is at the top of the page.
