Partially loaded projectiles in coaxial guns.

I was thinking about new kind of loading mechanism which so happens that it doesn't completely fit the projectile inside the barrel. Like this (assume it's a simple cylinder):
What if the projectile was like a dart, having a compressible conical section where it touches the barrel?
Is this bad in anyway? Would the rush of air around the edges of the projectile build up pressure in front of it, therefore reducing muzzle velocity? Would the vibrations shake the projectile and make it drop into the chamber? Probably the accuracy would somewhat be lost, no?What if the projectile was like a dart, having a compressible conical section where it touches the barrel?
