Organized Chat

We have had organized chats for the community to participate in in past, but we haven't had any in a while. So here I will try to organize yet another. Big changes, stay on your toes!

When:

Previously we have had one set time on a Sunday evening. Perhaps we could have separate chat times for the US, UK, and Australia? Each targeting Sunday afternoon for the chat time. Eh?

Where:

Initially we chatted over AIM, but PC added a chat room to SpudFiles. So we started having the chats here out of convenience, but I mean that thing sucks after 3+ people get in there. So perhaps this time 'round we should give AIM a spin?

What:

In the past we have had chats with a spud related topic in mind. However to stay on a topic proved really hard. So maybe we should just drop the whole themed idear? In any case I would suggest everyone be reasonable in there behavior.

So what you think?

[I don't know if anyone recalls, but back in the ST days someone made a icon to launch the AIM chatroom. Could that be done again?]

I like the idea of msn. I have no idea how to use AIM or IRc.

Most users outside of America don't use AIM. MSN is the big one for us.

I'm with Larda, IRC all the way. Technically MSN, Yahoo, etc... is a form of IRC, but I like the old school ones.

If I can get SpudFiles moved over to my new server by this weekend then I can make the built in chat here much better.

Well for the time being I'll try and keep the FlashChat open while I am logged on the computer. Beyond that lets just wait out PC's switch, I am in no rush. From there we can see how things have played out.

But from now on lets try getting in the chat room more. I am in there right now, head on over!

PCGuy, take a look at:

CGI:IRC - http://cgiirc.org/
Here“s the CGI:IRC Running: www.rizon.net/webchat

The channel at Rizon.net still "open".

* I vote for IRC too...
