I am learning how to use vusual basic and am making simple calculators of all sorts. Some are spudgunning related(so please pm me if you have a request for a calculator). I would like to share them with you guys but am not sure how to share .exe files on spudfiles without linking to another website, which i donot have, nor wish to make. Can some one help me?

Due to abuse of sharing copyrighted programs and the attraction that has to malware, spudfiles seems have taken the safe route and simply recommend linking to a page with the program, much like GGDT and HBGT programs.

I don't blame them and am quite happy with it as social engineering could get a large infection started as many people will try any suggested random exe file or if extensions are hidden, opening this photo of my wife  that is really a photo.jpg.exe.

Too many noobs, too many bot herders looking to rope in the clueless.

Edit

On Windows use Winzip. On Linux highlight the file(s), right click and choose create archive.

Well i could zip it then change the .exe to somethign else and then you just have to change it back...

But is ther eno way without having to link to a website of my own, or is there some kind of photo bucket for exe's?

@ maverik94: Mediafire is my preference of the free hosting sites. I actually host a number of things on my account for the convenience of people on different forums I frequent.

Mostly for a Games Workshop related website, but there are a couple of things I host for here.

Not yet... At the moment, I'm not happy with the reliability of my programming in the macros, mostly because my VBasic programming is rubbish.
I have got a non-macro version that's giving reliable outputs, but the non-macro nature causes it's own problems. Although it's fine for me to use, the problems are not something I think are acceptable in a public release.

Simple version: I code like a drunken monkey. Monkey coding is not acceptable in a public release.

Before anyone asks, the monkey has a blood alcohol level way off the Ballmer peak.

Just ZIP it up and upload. I've done it before for multiple file types, including executables. Simply right click somewhere in windows XP or above, choose "Create New Zipped Folder" (or similar), open it, drag a copy of your executable and .dll's to it, and then upload.

Another way to avoid people screaming 'OMG VIRIZS' is to simply upload the source code, and allow testers to compile the program themselves. A little easier if the program were developed in C or something like that, but a few people probably have VB6 or compatible.

@Technician: anybody who could manage to run VB6 on linux would most probably not have a problem zipping up a few files in linux either.

Well, you would come in here, wouldn't you? You're the only non-moderator that's got more posts than me, damn it.

Also, I had a round number and just wanted to finish a sentence with bitch, bitch.

haha, I thought the same thing about the ex sharing... btw, I picked out your launchers from my stock of fresh builds you two. Rag and JSR. Should be interesting to see how customs is. Sounds like it shouldn't be a problem though.

You know what is highly disturbing: The fact you acctually clicked on the topic even though you thought it was about sharing ex partners...I am positivly scared.

Also I will upload onto a file host as i really do not wish to have a whole "ARG BUNSEN IS SPAMMING THE FILES!!!" conflict arise. And again I ask you all to give me some kind of calculator to make, weather it is how many PSI you can generate with a given amount of body mass and a piston diameter(thus this being ment for building pumps) of if you want some thing random and a bit more complex(no guarantee I will be able to make a calculator that gives you something totally random, but things like the pressure when CO2 heats up and things like that I am happy to give a try). Now ill make a prediction about my post count: I will have a cannon on the files before my post count doubles!

Ok, If I need a calculator I will ask you, even though I could just get the formulas and make a program on my TI calculator. Also, I knew exactly what you ment when you said sharing exe's. (It should be sharing exes though, since it's not possessives, but who's counting?)
