I'd like to introduce myself

Hello all,

I just joined. I am a total noob to spudding. I have not even built anything like what people make here.

Not that i have not built launchers. I have made a M72A2 and a small grenade launcher replica that shoots a nerf pocket vortex over 100 yards (or 200 ft on a flat trajectory). I use them for airsoft.

But I want to try building something a LOT more Ambitious. Something bigger, grander... something that will make peoples jaws drop. I think Spudfiles will provide me with the knowledge to do that. There is so much knowledge and knowledgeable people here.

anyway, normally i lurk for 6 months to a year until i have a working prototype to share, but I just wanted to say hi.

Cheers,
rdp

Hey :) welcome to spudfiles.

You can post any creations of yours in the showcase sections or ask whatever you need in the discussion section. Just remember to search first (use the advanced search) and not to dig up old topics.

Enjoy your stay

We need more n00bs like you :)

Do post your own cannons, however simple, even ghetto cannons are appreciated here. Remember, it doesn't have to be bigger to make jaws drop ;)

As we haven't used the reference in over two years:
"Please allow me to introduce myself... I'm a man of wealth and taste."

Welcome to the forums.

Welcome to spudfiles, enjoy your stay.

I dont know if you already did, but did you check out the wiki already? The best place for "newlings" to do research and learn a lot.

Like your pengun, which dropped over 300 times its own weight of jaw. ;)

Hello Ray,

Welcome. :)

What do you have in mind? Help (or at least a point in the right direction) is only a question away.

And DO post your builds, there's something here for everyone.

It's "Rey" as in spanish (or is it latin?) for "King",
"De Papa" is "of potato".
Pretty cool, reminds me, I was looking at a nice "Knight's of Columbus" house/base and daydreaming of a "Knights of the Spud" fraternity maybe(LOL).
Welcome from myself too! 8)

Latin would be "Rex", to my limited knowledge of the language.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
Yeah, it's spanish.
i was not sure if my creation was on topic as they are PC duster/green gas powered.
But if y'all think it counts, I will comply... I'll have pictures and link to youtube shortly.

Welcome to the forums

... starchy veggies run for cover...

Where are you located? Finding parts, legal issues etc. change a lot depending on where you live.

Would you add location on you profile page?

I'm in central Texas. Parts do not seem to be an issue here. Not sure about the laws and regulations though.

Texas is gynormous. You could probably play with a howitzer and not get caught.
