Here's a thought, we can embed gifs:
... but this isn't 2007, these days mp4 and gifv formats use a lot less bandwith for better quality... is there some way we could embed them?

Forum software doesn't support those file extensions would be my best guess but with the fast advancement of computer tech now days that could change at any upgrade / update. PCGUY always has final say...

Just playing devil's advocate here, adding the custom BBCode for the HTML5 Video tag is easy enough, but using external sources is another can of worms.

It's convenient but I agree that it's a liability in the long term, what happened with photobucket is a good example. Still, we're happy to use youtube for video hosting...mark.f wrote:using external sources is another can of worms.

It's my guess that not enough money was being generated through ads so thy made 3rd party picture hosting a paid service.
