We've moved more heavily into dairy now, more cushion for...yeah.

Haha forgot about miniboy. The last few years I've been doing a lot with electronics and I'm now even less certain we could build anything to put inside it for tracking. I still wanna shoot it for the hell of it though!

Now that I too have access to large expanses of wilderness, I see some experiments of the sort in the future, perhaps with a larger caliber that would make electronic tracking feasible.

I had that problem when I (not that long ago) took over the main administration of a wargaming forum.

For a long time, the forum had several spammers an hour signing up, which meant that genuine members tended to get lost in the admin approval bin. The backlog was about 10,700 accounts when I took over, because the existing admins were burned out. I took several hours to go through and throw out fake accounts (firstly by identifying IP ranges that had made hundreds of signup attempts, then by comparing the remaining IPs/emails with databases of known spammers); in the end, I validated only 29.

Fortunately the nature of that forum made it a lot easier to filter out fake accounts. I changed the "are you a up some trivia questions about the wargame - questions almost any genuine member can easily answer, but which can stop human spammers dead in their tracks.

Not sure the same thing would really apply on Spudfiles though.

Not sure that one would work. :P

For the forum involved, we can expect members to be arriving with enough knowledge to answer basic background questions about the game (although there is a backup "Please e-mail here if you're completely stuck" option), but for spudguns, people are unlikely to arrive with much prior knowledge at all.

Tabletop wargaming, specifically one of the more niche Games Workshop games.

Perhaps it's time as it's not fair that one person should bear all the load, and there's obviously a bottleneck, here's a recent mention:
Anyone know how long it takes to lose the new user posting restrictions? Waiting 2-3 days for my posts to be approved and published is a bit of a downer...
