I have an idea for a loading system that i think will work good, i would cut a halfpipe section in my copper pipe about 1 - 2 inches long where ammunition could be loaded.

Then there would be a 1/2in couple about 6in - 12in long that would be slipped over the barrel and attached to the back of that gun using elastic bands. When you want to reload you simply push the couple foward to expose the breech, load a projectile and let it go then the elastic bands would pull it back into place.

This is a ghetto loading system but it was just an idea.

Also will this reduce the power of the gun in any way?

It may cause a little leakage, but it should work. On my marble sniper I have almost the same concept. I have a coupling with a hole drilled in it that can twist on the barrel. Line up the hole in the coupling hole and the barrel hole, drop ammo, close it and fire.

You can see it in the closed position at the top right of this pic http://s117.photobucket.com/albums/o60/ ... C00899.jpg

That's a good idea to use the elastic bands, I never thought of that, but make sure that you put O-rings around the barrel so that the cover seals against the barrel, that way it won't lose much power.

Instead of elastic bands you can use springs, they look better and dont break (as easily). But otherwise, nice setup!

Depending on how tight the coupling is around the pipe, elastic bands probably wouldn't be able to pull it back. If it were loose enough for them to be able to do so, then it would leak air.

Just use either springs, or don't be lazy. It can't be hard to slide it back aswell, you allready have to slide it forwards. It'd take more work and tweaking to get it to slide back.

Do what MrPlow did, and make the breech on the inside of the pipe, and mount it to a pneumatic ram.

I used to have a rubber band on my one gun, but I found that it slowly streched, so you need to put new ones on all the time. And they break. And they look ugly. And they dont work great. Use a spring or your hand  Just a suggestion though :D But otherwise the system works well, I have a similar concept on my one cannon.

You can just twist it to expose the loading port rather than sliding it back and forward. Put a handle on it to make it easier. Just like a bolt action.
