idea for mini coax piston cannon

this is my idea for a mini piston cannon i need all the advice for improving my design because i am going to build it tomorrow and if my plan is good could some one use the gas gun tool thing for me because i cant get it to work here is the sizes of pipe i might use my first idea is a 3" chamber and a 2" barrel and the other idea is a 2" chamber and 1" barrel so could u tell me what do u think of my idea please

i take it your using the same length of chamber and barrel pipe?

if so, i reccomend making the barrel pipe stick out a bit, about 5 inches, so that you can attach a male coupling to the end to allow for interchangable barrels.

it sounds fine to me, looking foward to it.

just make your piston serviceable and DONT USE DWV on your piston or else your piston housing will shatter in your face. WILL.

what is dwv and the barrel is gonna be 9" and the chamber will be 12" and i cant make the barrel inner changeable because of the way i am putting the barrel in

Drain Waste Vent is unrated pipe, and is not suitable for cannon construction

no, to make the barrel interchangeable you place a smaller diameter one inside of it, aka 1/2 inch copper, so you can shoot marbles.

and your barrel seems a wee bit long for using 1 inch in 2 inch pipe or 2 inch in 3 inch pipe. i would keep it at the same length as the chamber or mabey 5 inches longer, and no more.....

i still cant see what u are talking about the barrel is inside the chamber and the way i am going to make a bushing thing its a connector for two pipes to connect together and there and it makes a reducer

y is that ive already made many i want to start this one because it will be a good one not a ghetto one like my other ones its gonna be the best one

In the top right corner is the word "search" (it is between the words "rules" and "chat"). Click the "search" button. A new screen will appear. Under "Search Query" look to your right. There should be a box. Type "coaxial barrel change". In the middle of this "Search Query" box is another box entitled "Forum". Open the drop down box and scan down until you see "How-To Database (NOT FOR HELP-ME POSTS!)". It is the 21st option. At the bottom of this "Search Query" box is a button that reads "Submit". Click that button. A new screen will appear again. There you will find the topic entitled "Interchangeable barrels...on a CO-AXIAL. It is the 8th topic down.

Just make sure that all of the pipe and fittings that you buy say nsf-pw on them, that means that they are pressure rated. Do not use fittings that say nsf-dwv.
