What to do - 3" pipe

I have a length of 3" pipe laying around, and I was wondering what I could make with it... I was thinking of getting some 6" and making a huge pneumatic...

Or a golf ball cannon, with it and the chamber. What do you think?

get a 3' end cap and make a very simple combustion using just 3' pipe. th barrel will be the same as the chamber but still works well for me.

Make a gigantic co-axial cannon. 3" barrel with a 6" chamber at whatever pipe lengths you want.

but what whould work as a piston in 6" pipe unles you got a big lathe and a gaiant rod of plastic which is very expensive

You could just cast the piston out of epoxy or hot glue, but that would be a lot of epoxy, and I don't know how strong hot glue would be.

Has anyone ever made a piston valve in a 6" tee?

I've been contemlpating making an 8" diaphragm coaxial for over a year now, but the price keeps kickin' my ass. I doubt I'll get around to it, so I'm trying to get rid of the pipe.

i know this is kinda off topic, but if i have some 3 inch pressure rated pvc that has been sitting in my unheated garage for like a year...can i still use it?

It should be fine. Make sure it doesn't have any cracks and such.
PVC does get damaged by uv light, but the only piece I have ever seen noticable damage on is a piece that was sitting outside for literally over 20 years.
It was fairly brittle and had turned yellow in color. I think I might glue some end caps on it and try to make it burst with air pressure, just to test how weak it really is.

For a 6-8" piston you could easily make something out of wood or fiberboard.

I might actually finish the combustion sometime, but a pneumatic would cost too much.

It doesn't have to be solid epoxy, if you build up the unit wisely (you could have a foam core as per my how-to) you could economise of epoxy and save weight at the same time.

okay cast a giant tube with a cast made of 6" pvc and 4" pvc then comer the ends with sheetpvc, but how do you get the epoxy off the cast maybe line the sides with something but what

Hahahahahaha, what, do you just have extra lying around? Haha. Or you could line it with wax paper, or butcher paper, something very thin. Some tissue paper like you use to stuff in gift bags would work well probably.
