Note: I HAVE searched this, but came out with too many results.

Is there anyway to build a bolt-action for a 1/2" barrel? I always see them with two barrels..
well, this isn't much isn't it?

i remember seeing a tutorial on a bolt action mech for a small diameter barrel (somewhere between 1/2" and 1") that was from along time ago.. might want to check the how-to section.

Do what I do, take a look at firearms: bolt-action, Wikipedia

Also look at the Dues Ex Machina, sorry, can’t remember who made it, and I don’t have time to look it up.

As a completely off subject side note:
flamerz14, in your signature is mentioned an Indian, my question is: dots or feathers?

You don't have to cast a piston out of the epoxy, you could cast anything possibly *imaginable. :)

That was my point - you can just as easily cast a perfectly fitting bolt out of epoxy that would give you negligible air loss without the need for o-rings.

For my bolt, which is inside a 1/2 inch pipe, I use a piece of 3/8 coppper pipe with couplings on either side and one in the middle. Then use duct tape or an o-ring and the seal is mostly air tught. For the bolt I put a screw throught one of the sides.

Why not just use a ½” dowel rod?
Why are we spoon feeding every body, rather than telling them how to do something, tell them were to look, I.E. Google…
Note: I HAVE searched this, but came out with too many results.
And that’s called laziness, if your to lazy to read, are you to lazy to build a bolt action. You are to lazy to follow basic rules, i.e. search first, then if you can’t find it then you can ask, apparently you found what you were looking for, but you still asked…

And how do we know that your not to lazy to follow basic safety rules?

Jugement arms: dots, and no need to get upset. No need for flame wars. Just don't get upset at me.

Flamerz14: What do you mean by "not a piston"? That the whole barrel doesn't move with the bolt? Also, what type of ammo do you plan to use with it?

Semi-auto bolt-action? (Like with a magazine?) Or "load-the-bullet-after-each-shot" bolt action?

There are several bolt designs I've seen, but they all depend on what ammo you use, and if you want a magazine. Eg- For a potato, you need a cartrage. For a dart, no cartrage. For a marble, you need something to stop it from rolling up or down the barrel.

The easiest method have seen is to cut a hole in the barrel at the breach, long and wide enough for your progectile. Then, find (or mold?) a pipe to cover the breach when it is slid over it. To stop leaks, use an o-ring before ad after the breach. To use marbles too, just put a stopper behind it, then drill a small hole in front of it. Fill the hole with bristles from a tooth brush, and epoxy.

Ghetto, but works. Sorry if that was confusing, but i'm in a rush. :D

EDIT: This is another breach idea. Not really bolt action, but it would be good for marbles, darts, or potatoes. And, its the only thread I could think of to link to. :D Skip to the first pic.
