Aluminum Foil? Paper? Just keep testing how many layers you need of whatever you try.

sorry for the obviously dumb question but what is a burst disk? is just a thinish diaphram that make a bang or what?

it can be used for different reasons, i use it for a safety device, some ppl use it to hold air till they pop it to release it. but yeah, its basicaly a thin piece of plastic.

I use them just for noise makers. But there is other purposes.
