The spring keeps the piston seated until the pressure builds behind it in the pilot area I believe jack.
I can see how your going to attach the stock easily now,I to am wondering if at say 300psi if your piston seal will hold up but you do have a few spare ones hahaha
.
One time when I'm Brisbane way matey I'll bring my Chrono along and we can chrono this thing for its velocity.Sound good to you?

Jack, I havn't tried it without the spring but I know she works perfect with it so why fix whats not broken?
Thanks alot U2, She should be completed real soon. I welded up a part of the detatchable stock before.
Damn straight RNA, sounds like a sh!t hot idea. I dunno what speed it will shoot but with 6mm lead balls at 300psi, im thinking 600fps or so but even if I can get close to that, it'll put a giant smile on my face
.
Cheers lads.

If I were you i'd remove the spring (and replace it with a thick rubber washer as a bumper) and see if you can still fill without it - it should increase performance on firing.

That's it, the less resistance the piston meets moving backwards, the quicker it will move and therefore the faster your valve opens.

Homemade mate
I just got a rubber tubeless tire valve, sanded it down so it was like a plug, drilled out the hole in that 1/2 brass fitting and just pushed it in. It's completely air tight at 360psi (havn't tried any further) so I'm happy.
