Need help EMERGANCY! (not to do with my valve either)

He all i need your help badly, i went to install my PSI gauge and didn't think about where my blowgun needs to go, unfortunately, i drilled the guage hole, screwed the guage in, and its in the wrong spot :( how can i fix this hole, what can i seal it with that will hold up to 120PSI??? i was thinking of putting a bolt threw it, doing that up very tight, aralditing it and then putting one of those rubber hose clamps on. But it would look rather unneat.

Use a threaded brass plug the same size as the blowgun threads. You can hardly even see it after it's in.

Maybe just put in a nipple with a cap on it? It's not that big of a deal.

put a nipple in it, then a tee. that way you can put both the gauge and the blowgun in the same spot.

My blow gun attaches to the valve btw, noow im feeling happier :D cept im not sure ifmy local hardware store does threaded brass plugs and stuff like that, well not that small, owell ill have to figure something out when im there, thanks for the quick replys. HaiThar did i scare ya? lol sorry :P

Just use a threaded hex plug and cover with JB Weld or other high strength epoxy if the threads aren't tapped. If they are, you don't need the epoxy. Nice looking gun BTW! (from what I can see...)

That should work, find a bolt slightly larger than the hole so it will tap itself in and put araldite on the threads.

Lol yeah my dad said that a bolt should work fine, we have one that is perfect size, just needa cut it down a bit, then put some tefol on the threads, and some araldite. Yeah it is a good looking gun, my first pneumatic, well not counting my BB Gun :P I will post it when its finished, just need a chamber, tire valve, and needa mod my sprinkler and im about done :P Cheers for the help everyone i feel much better now :P

Don't use a bolt, use a pipe fitting or plug, their threads are tapered and seal on their own since it gets tigther as it goes in.
I'm weird, I know it, you don't need to tell me.

why dont you turn the sprinkler valve 350 degrees or so? just twist it so its on the other side?

or maybe hack off that 45 and put the sprinkler valve on the same side as the gauge.

I have an idea if you can asses the hole form behind, which it looks like you can. Ok here is what to do, get some string, put it through the hole and let it fall out an open side of the chamber. Get a piece of pvc sheet bigger than the hole, and put a hole through the middle of it. Tie the string through the hole, then pull the string back through the hole, pulling th sheet pvc into the back of the hole. This will secure the pvc sheet inside the chamber behind the hole. Add some epoxy to the sheet and let the sheet stick behind the hole. Then fill the hole with epoxy or epoxy putty, sand the epoxy down and it will be flush with the chamber.

This method will not break because the pressure is holding the hole closed and the epoxy is helping the sheet stay in place and keeping it airtight.

Mmm fair enough i was thinking of bolting it from the other side, but i cant, because i cant reach it. I might just put a bolt threw it, some teflon and some aralidite and it should be all good :P

Look in the plumbing section of any hardware store. If they don't have a 1/4" threaded plug, kindly go to the counter and slap the owner. After he regains his composure, tell him to get his catalog out and order some threaded plugs. He should order a batch of them and then you can buy one.

(Alright, well maybe something like that. :wink: )

leave the gauge, and place the blowgun somewhere else by the use of a hose.
