2" Piston Valve
I just completed my 2" piston valve. It ports to 1 1/2". I haven't tested it yet with a cannon, but I have with my mouth, haha. I just covered the chamber port, and blew in through the ball valve to see if the piston sealed and it did! I still have to add a Schrader valve to it. It will be in the steel pipe connecting the ball valve. And the PSI gauge will be on the chamber its self. Anyways, without further ado, here are the pictures.

What if you don't have a tee could you make the piston housing out of 1 1/2'' PVC and use a slide to cover the hole or would too much air escape. I'm knew to this. But seems all the air would be traped behind the piston until it's released, and if it's wide enough it wouldn't let the air escape. Bit its just a thought. Oh another thing how is the piston pulled back a ram rod. Thanks Chuck
Well, this is my first piston. But I do have a general knowledge of how they work. Air will be filled up a tire valve in the steel pipe that the ball valve is connected to. When air is injected the piston seals the barrel and air leaks around the piston to the chamber, when the ball valve is released, the air from behind the piston sucks the piston back allowing air to escape out the barrel all at once at a very high rate speed.
EDIT: Chuck, search for piston guns, and take a look at this. http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/mini-pi ... t6455.html

Well i hope you have more luck than me
If you havent seen any of my posts, I have 2 posts about failing piston valves. So good for you, first try you get it, and me 2 times and still doesnt work
But whatever good for you.
What is your Piston made of, Sealing face? Bumper? And is that duct tape on the sides?
LikimysCrotchus5: The piston is a plastic barrel thing that held some gooie stuff in it. I just cut it in half, and the duct tape was just for a better fit. I'm going to make a new piston anyways, and also put electrical tape on this one for a smoother fit. The bumper I forgot to show, it is just a small piece of rubber that will sit in the reducer.

No, it wasn't 'glue' it was goo.

Nice valve, one problem though even it seals the real feat is getting it to actually fire. The piston should be smothered in lube and have a nice semi tight fit in the tee or pipe that it slides in.
The Doors are awesome, Led Zeppelin is amazing, and Motley Crue kicks @$$.

Yeah I know. I'm going to make a new piston anyways. I should be able to test it tomorrow or Tuesday for sure.

what are you going to make the piston out of? might i surgest umpy
umpy? I was planing on making it out of a coupling... just don't know what size. I'll just have to go by home depot and start sliding things down the Tee until something slides well.

1 1/4'' coupling fits good in 2'' sch 40 pipe
i don't like how close you drilled your screw holes to the end of the tee i think the piston slamming into the back plug would break it out at the screw holes and what is going to seal the back plug?
