Now before you freak out and scream to look at wiki and use the search button, I have a question on modding a sprinkler valve that I cant find the answer too. I have a Rainbird inline 1 inch valve, and when I looked at the thread on modding a sprinkler valve, Pimpman had the same valve and could not mod his. Does anyone know if it can be done? I really hate the honking noise and my switch sucks.

As far as i know, no Sprinkler Valve is 'unmoddable', it just makes it more difficult if it has a guide rod.

If a sprinkler valve has a guide rod, then people usually have the blowgun mounted to the side of the guide rod. It's hard to explain it, but have it off-set from the center if you know what I mean.

Yeah, what Infernal Maveric Said. My Sprinkler Valve GUn had a Guide rod SO I just put it off centre.

Also, you could just use the solenoid if you wanted to.

bend the top of the guide rod 90 degress about 2 cm down. and it should rest on the diagram. then get a 1/4 nipple and put it through the thick bit at the very top of the valve. this should help p.m me if you have any questions.

looking at the pic, in the bottom left corner you see three washers you add these to keep tension on the spring. they are not normaly there, you can get them at any hardware store i do not remember what size though.

I just had my hole and fitting offset so it wouldn't interfere with the spring.
